What is BARPIG?

Legend tells of a tavern called BARPIG, a place deep in the woods where adventuring pigs go to challenge themselves and reign piggy supreme…

BARPIG is a culmination of hilariously fun group activities to challenge you friends, but watch out! Those same friends might be harboring deliciously vindictive item cards to back-stab you with and turn the game in their favour.

Add to this an RPG-like level system to make it competitive, damage system to keep it vindictive, and a dice to determine initiative and you get BARPIG – The Adventure Party Game: The pocket-sized adventure party game for anyone and everyone, anywhere and everywhere.

Themed on adventuring pigs in a medieval tavern, BARPIG combines uncanny levels of wit and humour with novel game mechanics that continuously engage all players throughout the game. All this in a unique, highly portable, and wizardly fun game.

Inspired from games like Munchkin, Exploding Kittens, and Ring of Fire, BARPIG joins these greats as the pig-fect way to liven up any party.

Easy to learn, fun to play, it’s the perfect party game for anywhere, with anyone, at anytime.

…Oh, and there will be Pigs!

Sounds amazing! How is it played?

Players take turns based on a dice roll, highest roll moves up one level closer to the winning level 5, whereafter they challenge their fellow players to a hilarious group activity described on the character card they currently hold. These characters change during a game, and ask players to adapt the challenge with their own creativity and abilities, meaning no two rounds will ever be the same.

Losing a challenge will not only cost you precious drinks on your bar tab, but also impact your character’s sobriety. Lose too many “Sober points” and your character might find themselves ‘blacking out’, sending you back towards level 1! No player is ever eliminated, however, meaning it’s anyone’s game until the fat piggy sings.

Help is at hand however, in form of fun and wacky items. ‘Bought’ using that same bar tab and hence drink points, these have a multitude of effects like changing the group challenge, stealing the winning dice roll, deflecting damage points, or even effecting other items.

Designed for groups of 3 to 7 players, each version of BARPIG features around 10 characters, each with their own unique challenge, as well as between 12 and 14 different deliciously vindictive item cards to back-stab your friends with in this fight for supremacy.

We mentioned there’d be pigs, right?

Wait? Each version? There’s more?

That’s right! We’ve been around long enough, and I guess we’re just that crazy, to have published 3 versions of BARPIG!
And indeed BARPIG is fully modular: This means any pack of BARPIG can be combined and deck-built with any other, however you wish

BARPIG – The Adventure Party Game

Or as we call it, “Original BARPIG”, is where it all started back in 2017. Sporting 10 Character cards with their unique challenges, and a nice mash up of 12 unique item card types, this is the ideal starter pack for anyone wanting to dip their toe in this mud-pool of fun.

BARPIG After Hours

Born in 2019 out of demands from our fan base to come up with an expansion. We went one step further, and designed “After Hours” to be both a standalone as well as a expandable addition to Original BARPIG. And we decided to the dark side of pork with this edition.

“Not everyone is allowed in the illustrious BARPIG tavern, and some aren’t too happy about it. So when the good pigs are away, the bad pigs break in to play.”

BARPIG – The Great Festival

Released in 2023, The Great Festival is a celebration that puts every player and what makes them special center-stage in this final installment of the BARPIG family. We took everything we learned from our years of Party Game creation experience and developed challenges that truly bring a party to the table!

“Legend tells of an adventurous piggy, who explored the far reaches of the realm before settling down to build a tavern deep in the woods: A place where all adventuring pigs could meet kindred spirits and share tales from afar. Since then, whenever the harvest moon falls upon the equinox, everyone in the realm is invited to The Great Festival to celebrate why we explore and share what we’ve found.“
