We’re two days since our last livestream, and our march towards a relaunch continues on unabated.
A few highlights since; we’ve updated our Kickstarter campaign video, and we’d love to hear what you guys think about it! Add your comments to the video on YouTube.com, or e-mail / message us (facebook, twitter) – we’d love to know what you think and if there’s something that can be improved before we go ahead with it.
Another highlight is the question of financial investment towards a rework on the art and design layout. As you may have gathered, the majority of our efforts are towards the visual design of the game. It’s becoming glaringly obvious that although our game looked good, it wasn’t good enough to capture a lot of our campaign visitors. The question comes down to if we want to just do a basic layout improvement to the game, and once the Kickstarter is successful look at introducing a design overhaul of the cards and game packaging as a stretch goal. Or if we go for the entire game overhaul along with campaign page and marketing visuals right from the start.
For us it’s a difference between investing approx €5,000 or €10,000 ourselves, and producing 1,000 units or 2,000 units respectively (to offset the higher costs by spreading them over more games, so a lower cost per unit – yes, maths).
We would love to hear what you guys think; please send us your opinions and thoughts (email@example.com / facebook / twitter).
With regards to the new campaign’s page, there’s also a lot to be said about translating the fun of BaRPiG into something that a casual reader can pick up when visiting a campaign page. The tips we got from our Kickstarter survey gave us some great ideas, and we’re lining those up for when we start promoting at events again. We’re also adjusting some bits which were a little too intense (shipping details that went a bit overboard on customs and excise details).
The next blog to come out shortly will again be a summary of the points covered in our Livestream from last Tuesday, with the appropriate links.
For now, we’re going to keep typing away on our laptops, running questions and requests on Redit and Boardgamegeek, and building the new page up ready for our relaunch. The date is starting to become clearer. Big hurdle remains getting the visuals right.
Let us know, keep in touch, and keep sharing the love everyone! Thanks for being part of this with us.
Until then, keep questing you fine BaRPiGs!
